Mars

Mars

Mars has four position in our solar system from Sun.It knows well as RED PLANET. It has one more name Roman  god of war. Due to having iron oxide on its surface its  appearance is reddish.
Mas is also a terrestrial planet. Its atmosphere is so thin. Due to having reddish appearance it can be seen by naked eyes. There are so many Craters(holes at the surface like moon , Volcanoes ,Deserts Polar ice on the surface of Mars.

The rotational period of Mars is 24 hours 39 minutes 22 second at this time Mars completes one rotation on its axis which is almost to similar to the rotational period time of earth and the direction of rotation of  Mars is anti-clockwise like other planet. Olympus moon is the first highest mountain as well as volcano  in our solar  system which is situated at the surface of Mars. The height of Olympus
moon is 25 km which almost three time of Mount Everest.
Valles Marineris is the one largest canyon which is also situated to Mars surface.
COMPOSITION- The core of Mars is made up by mettalic iron and nickel

Sillicon,Oxygen,Iron,Magnesium,
Calcium and Potassium these elements are the major part of it composition. the distance of mars from Sun is 227940000 km.
the landmark on the surace of mars is similar to the earth due to its elliptical orbit path around the sun and thin atmosphere dust storm comes  always there

Mars have two natural satellite in other word  Mars has two moon  Phobos and Deimos both moon are small and having irregular safe
Both moon discovered by Asaph Hall in August 1877
MISSION CONDUCTED BY NASA-- 39 mission was conducted by NASA but only 16 mission succeed out of them. there are mention few famous mission conducted by NASA.

1-Mariner 4- Mariner 4 was the first craft to fly for mars in 1965
2 Curiosity- Curiosity rover was launched by NASA in 5 November 2013 and landed 6 AUGUST 2012
Curiosity rover is presented  on Mars surface and it is exploring Mars surface as well as  taking observation of its composition.
Curiosity rover is made by NASA that was the most successful mission conducted by NASA.

MISSION CONDUCTED BY INDIA---  Mars orbiter Mission(MOM)was launched by INDIA RESEARCH SPACE ORGANISATION on 5 November 2013. MOM inserted into Martian Orbit by PSLV-C5 polar satellite launch vehicle. The expenditure on this mission is almost half in the comparison of other agency that was the huge successful gain by India in the field of  Space Science and Aeronautic
                                                              EVIDENCE OF WATER ON MARS
All  water on Mars today exists as ice and  small quantity of water present in atmosphere in the state of vapor North polar cap is the only one place on mars where water is visible in the form of ice. the major part of water ice is present in the form of permanent carbon dioxide at the Martian south pole.Five million cubic kilometer of ice has been identified near the surface of modern mars.
